I really enjoyed this story about 14-year-old Jamie’s journey from Oregon to Tennessee to see his dying older brother. Jamie’s story is told in letters – long, honest and revealing letters, mostly to and from his brother Peter. Jamie keeps his let...

| I'm almost ashamed to say that I never read this until now, but there it is. Beautiful, upsetting, surprisingly funny, and featuring a few of the most decent characters I've ever encountered. I can totally understand why it's such a classic and has h...more | |

| I'm not always a lover of what's known as "hard" sf -- sf that's filled with lots of hard science, in this case science regarding ecology, geology, and all sorts of other brain-straining disciplines. But what's remarkable to me about this book is how...more | |

I just wanted to say thank your for sharing your amazing talents with the world. Your memoir truly changed my life, and changed who I am; if I hadn't read it when I did, as a thirteen year-old who was confused out of her mind, I probably would have thought that there was something wrong with me and would have been afraid for a long time. You're a huge inspiration, and a wonderful influence.
Thank you so much for your beautiful book, Anthony. I'm playing Joanne in a production of Rent right now, and it was such a joy to read, not to mention an excellent resource.
