I formerly worked for the state of Arizona for 14 years. During that time, I started a business in his spare time buying fixer-upper houses and turning them into rental properties. In addition to my real estate business, I also write books about real estate investing and on how to live a self-reliant life, rather than relying on a 9:00-5:00 job for security.

In another life, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras, where I worked as a teacher trainer in rural schools, and started chicken projects. During that time, I was widely referred to, in hushed tones, as the legendary “king of the chickens” (half man/half chicken). But, that’s a story for another whole book.
